Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Patiala Varun Sharma today informed the media about the cracking of sensational double murder case that rocked the city by Patiala police in less than 48 hours.
Shrama said, on July 26,2023 a mother-son duo was murdered at their residence 10-B, Shaheed Udham Singh Nagar, Patiala by some miscreant. After getting the news of double murder, Patiala police senior officers including forensic experts were rushed to the spot. On the complaint of Gurmukh Singh, husband of Jasvir Kaur (50 years) and father of Harvinder Singh Jaggi (26 years) police had registered a FIR under section 302, 34 IPC at Tripuri police station. Simultaneously, a team is formed under his direct supervision and SP City Sarfraz Alam, SP (Inv) Harbir Singh Atwal, Jaswinder Singh Tiwana DSP City 2, Sukhamrit Singh Randhawa DSP (D), CIA Incharge Shaminder Singh, Pardeep Bajwa SHO Tripuri and Amandeep Singh SHO Anaj Mandi, Patiala were the other members of the team . “
“ The teams started their investigation and within 48 hours, Patiala police cracked the sensational double murder and arrested the culprit Harjit Singh alias Kaka resident of district Bundi , Rajasthan along with the weapon used in the double murder, the gold, silver ornaments” added Sharma.

Giving further information, SSP Sharma added that the accused culprit Harjit Singh Kaka is a relative of the deceased Jasvir Kaur. He is a B.Sc from MBS University Ajmer. He is 23 years old and a bachelor. He is a brother of two sisters. Harjit Singh wants to go abroad. On the fateful day he went to the residence of his aunt Jasvir Kaur with an intention to get some cash, ornaments from the deceased. But he killed her. On listening his mother screams, his son Harvinder Singh came from first floor and the accused also killed him.”
