Senior superintendent of police, Patiala, Varun Sharma has issue a transfer orders of 14 NGOs of Patiala police.
Patiala police transfers; inspector accused in abetment to suicide case posted as SHO . In today’s order inspector Guriqbal Singh Sikand incharge special cell Patiala and Rajpura has been posted as SHO Samana city police station in addition with incharge special cell Patiala and Rajpura.
On December 28,2022, a history sheeter Gurmukh Singh Dhaliwal of Markal Colony, Patiala had committed suicide by pouring petrol on himself in his office at Rori Kut Mohalla. Before committing suicide Gurmukh Singh has leveled mental torture allegations on Guriqbal Singh Sikand. In his statement before committing suicide had said “ I’m committing suicide as Inspector Sikand (Guriqbal Singh Sikand) is harassing me. Sikand had even summoned female members of my family at midnight. “
On this the BJP leader and daughter of former chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh, Jai Inder kaur sat on dharna outside the mortuary and even blocked the highway demanding action and registration of FIR against the accused inspector Guriqbal Singh Sikand. Later she lifted the dharna after getting assurance of fair investigation by Patiala police.
On the other hand, as per police a record Gurmukh Singh is one of the major “Satta” players of Patiala. On October 2 last year Sikand had booked Gurmukh Singh in a 420 and gambling act and recovered a huge amount of Rs 66,65,345 from him.
As per the police record, Gurmukh was a history sheeter and a total 15 cases were registered against him since February 15,2005. Most of the cases were registered under 13 A/ 367 gambling act. But he was also booked under 21/61/85 NDPS act, under 420 (cheating), under 307 (A shoots at with intention to kill him, under such circumstances that, if death ensued. A would be guilty of murder) and under various acts on different occasions.
