Patiala postal department launches “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign; head post office to remain open on holidays

India’s National flag-Tri-colour flag is a symbol of pride for every Indian. It represents national integrity and signifies the hopes and aspirations of the Indian people.
The central govt has launched ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and to hoist it to mark the 75th year of India’s independence. Under this campaign, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to people to hoist the national flag in their homes from August 13 onwards.
“As part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, the Tricolour or the national flag is now available at all the head post offices of Patiala circle-Patiala, Rajpura and Sirhind for ₹25” said superintendent of Posts, Patiala circle
“On the occasion of the 75th Independence Day, a selfie point (philately frame of national flag along with postage stamps and special covers issued on the freedom struggle), are installed at each head post office under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign and people would be encouraged to take selfies here,” said the Patiala postal department officials .
Adding further, the postal department officials said “anyone can come and take Tiranga (National Flag) from the head post office cash counter from 9:00 am onwards till 3:00 pm. The head post of counter will remain open even on Sunday and on other holidays.”
Patiala postal department launches “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign; head post office to remain open on holidays. The department officials added that the Tiranga (National Flag) are also available at departments 48 sub offices and 217 branch offices along with head offices of Patiala circle.
As per the program, a “Prabhat Pheri will also be organized by the postal department to motivate families to join the campaign and hoist the national flag by divisional heads / assistant superintendent .Patriotic Songs to be played during the Prabhat Pheri .”
The postal department officials said that “the department of posts has been tasked with utilising its reach and manpower across the country by making people aware of the importance of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. The country is celebrating ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ as part of the 75 years of independence and the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign is a part of it.”
