Within few hours of retirement Punjab IAS officer gets constitutional posting

Arun Goel, IAS (Retd.) (PB: 1985) who took voluntarily retirement on November 18,2022 just around 40 days before his actual retirement has been appointed as Election Commissioner of India on the next day of his retirement. He was working as a secretary Heavy Industry and on deputation to Central government, from where he resigns.
Within few hours of retirement Punjab IAS officer gets constitutional posting as the President of India issues an order’ The President is pleased to appoint Arun Goel, IAS (Retd.) (PB: 1985) as the Election Commissioner in the Election Commission with effect from the date he assumes the office.”
