Patiala ready to receive Nagar Kirtan from Nankana Sahib

In a first after Partition, a nagar kirtan (Sikh religious procession) from Nankana Sahib in Pakistan, being carried out as part of the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak, the founder of Sikhism, will be reaching Patiala on Tuesday.
“Residents of Patiala are eagerly waiting to have a glimpse of the holy saroop from Nankana Sahib and are ready to welcome the nagar kirtan’ said Gagandeep Kaur, a devotee.
“The enthusiasm of devotees is at its peak” said another devotee Kamaljeet kaur.
Representatives of various religious, social and political organisations are ready to welcome the nagar kirtan on its arrival in the city.
As per programme the nagar kirtan will arrive at 3 pm in Patiala from Nabha side. The nagar kirtan will get rousing welcome from city residents at Chahal Palace on Nabha Road. From there it will go to Gurudwara Dukhniwaran sahib via bhupindra road, leela bhawan, phowara chowk, lower mall, raghomajra, karah wala chowk, chandani chowk,anardana chowk, dharampura bazaar, gaushala road, shere-punjab market,lahori gate, baradari garden and finally reach Gurudawra Dukhniwaran Sahib, for a night halt.
Tomorrow morning it will leave for Fatehgarh sahib.
The nagar kirtan will culminate at Sultanpur Lodhi, the historic town in Kapurthala district, where Guru Nanak spent his 14 years
