World renowned Royal city Patiala is famous for it’s rich cultural heritage, its traditional clothing, cuisine, religious places, historical sites etc. Now another chapter is added in the list-‘Safe Haven for Traffic Violators.”
Anyone influential-small or big, doesn’t matter can be a part of this prestigious ‘Traffic Violators’ club.
The latest major traffic violation, safety is done by Pollywood actor Dev Kharoud, while promoting his upcoming film. He openly flouted traffic, road safety norms in Patiala. He himself proudly, without any hesitation flashed the traffic violation on the roads of Patiala on June 13,2025. He along with his co-stars openly pop out of the sunroofs of their SUVs, violating the traffic rule and safety. Youngsters did triple riding on two wheelers, sits on the windows of four wheelers. All these goes unnoticed right under the nose of Patiala police. His cavalcade includes the SUVs with Punjab Police stickers.

As per available information, local police has not registered any FIR against him or his followers (as per the crime report shared by the Patiala Police on June 14,2025)
Dev Kharoud violating the traffic norms in Patiala is not a single incident. Patialavies have the courage to openly flout the Supreme Court orders- using of black films, flasher lights on the top, hooters in four wheelers. Even the Patiala police seem to be in no mood to rightfully implement the Apex Court orders.
As per Supreme Court orders, use of films or any other material upon the windscreen or the side windows is impermissible in law. Use of black film, curtains , sunscreens , shades on vehicles, all these are illegal as anything that obstructs visibility is deemed illegal. But, Patialavies feel proud in violating the Apex Court orders right under the nose of Patiala Police.
Though the district administration issues orders against the use of black films and lights atop vehicles “without the permission from the Additional DGP (Traffic)” but it seems that all go in vein as Patialavies, VIPs, officers, their wards feel proud to disobey the government orders as traffic policemen are unable to challan VIP vehicles as it invites the wrath of their seniors. These self-styled VIPs continue to flout norms pertaining to black filming and multi-coloured lights atop private vehicles. Some of the VIPs are using High Security number plates in an illegal manner, not as per rules and regulations.
When contacted the superintendent of police (traffic inchage) KK Panthey, PPS he said “ I am on leave for 20 days. Please contact Achru Ram.”
Meanwhile, despite repeated attempts, Achru Ram, SP did not respond to phone calls, text message, whatsapp message.
