On Wednesday night a live concert of a Punjabi singer was organized by the promoters of an upcoming Punjabi film in an open space, of a reopened cinema hall near fountain chowk in Patiala. The organizer used the open space and put up a huge stage with loud music system adjoining walls of two private hospitals. One private hospital is an ENT hospital and other is a multi specialty hospital with trauma care centre.
The concert irks the patients and their families as the sound was too high. On the condition of anonymity a care taker of the patient admitted at private multi specialty hospital, adjoining the concert venue said that as per the government ruling, guidelines “the neighborhoods of hospitals are declared silence zones so that patients receiving treatment are not disturbed and need to be noise-free”.
An attendant of another patient admitted in one of the hospital said “it’s just the beginning as the cinema is recently reopened after a renovation and the management might use the open space for organizing such events in future .Action must be taken against the violators ,so that such events should be avoided in future, taking in consideration the health of the people of the city.
