Amar Shaheed Baba Ajit Singh Jujhar Singh Memorial (Autonomous) College of Pharmacy Bela  organized a one day seminar on Pharmacovigilance program of India. Dr. Ajay Singh Kushwah, welcoming all the esteemed guests and students to the seminar. In the seminar Dr. Bikash Medhi, Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmacology at PGIMER Chandigarh, delivers an expert talk on this critical topic.

Dr. Medhi’s insightful presentation shed light on the crucial role of pharmacovigilance in safeguarding public health, promoting patient safety, and enhancing healthcare systems’ effectiveness in India. By emphasizing the definition, scope, and objectives of pharmacovigilance, he highlighted the need for a robust framework to monitor and evaluate medicine safety in the country.

The discussion on global perspectives provided valuable insights into international initiatives and regulatory frameworks, allowing us to learn from best practices worldwide. Dr. Medhi’s exploration of the regulatory framework of pharmacovigilance in India further deepened our understanding of the existing systems and their implementation.

The talk also covered essential aspects such as reporting and data management systems, underscoring the significance of efficient and comprehensive reporting mechanisms. In the concluding remarks, Dr. Shailesh Sharma, the Director of the college, highlighted the pivotal role of pharmacovigilance in ensuring the safety of medicines in India. He expressed his gratitude to the distinguished guests, including Dr. Ajay Prakash from PGIMER, Dr. Vikas Rana from Punjabi University Patiala, Dr. Vikas Sharma from LPU, Phagwara, and Dr. Paramjit Singh, for their presence and contributions to the seminar.
