Players of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University Create History

Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib, takes immense pride in the remarkable achievements of its players, who have brought laurels at both national and international levels through their outstanding performances.
Amrit Pal Singh, a student of the M.P.Ed. programme in the Department of Physical Education and Sports Technology, has been selected for the Indian Rugby Team camp on the basis of his performance in the Senior National Tournament. This achievement stands as a testament to his consistent hard work, determination, and dedication to the sport, bringing recognition not only to his department but to the entire University.
Alongside this, Amandeep Kaur has also created history by becoming the first female rugby player from Punjab to represent India in the Asian Games. Her achievement is not merely a personal milestone but a source of inspiration for young women athletes across Punjab. Notably, she has previously proven her excellence at the international level as well. A resident of village Dhirpur in Fatehgarh Sahib and daughter of Shri Malook Singh, Amandeep Kaur represented India in the Asian Rugby Emirates League, bringing pride to both the nation and the state of Punjab. Her continued success reflects her discipline, perseverance, and commitment to the sport.

These accomplishments have been made possible with the dedicated efforts and guidance of Coach Sandeep Kumar, who has played a significant role in preparing the players for high-level competitions and strengthening their confidence.
On this occasion, the Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Prit Pal Singh, expressed his delight and congratulated the players, coach, and staff. He stated that such achievements strengthen the sporting culture of the University and serve as a source of inspiration for other students. He also expressed confidence that the University’s players will continue to achieve greater success at national and international platforms in the future.
