PM lays foundation stone for the redevelopment of Rupnagar Railway Station virtually

The foundation stone for modern redevelopment works of Rupnagar, railway station under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme of the Union Government was laid through video conferencing by the Prime Minister Narendra Mod today.

The redevelopment work will be undertaken at a cost of Rs. 23.99 crore. BJP Rupnagar district president Ajayvir Singh Lalpura was the special guest at the function held at Rupnagar railway station today. On this occasion, the Prime Minister.

Speaking on the occasion Ajayvir  Singh Lalpura said that due to the visionary and positive thinking of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi  today will go down in history as making Rupnagar a  beautiful city in the real sense.

He said that this is the first time since 1998 that various railway stations in Punjab are going to be transformed on a large scale, for which he was very grateful to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

He said that under this scheme, a master plan has been prepared to improve the accessibility of passengers to stations, circulating areas, waiting halls, toilets, lifts/escalators, cleanliness as per requirement, free Wi-Fi, kiosks. Keeping in view the needs of each station, ‘One Station One Product’, better passenger information system, executive lounge, space earmarked for business meetings, landscaping etc. have also been included in the plan.
