Pothole couldn’t survive him: octogenarian dies; cremation today

Darshan Singh Brar, an octogenarian who declared dead in Patiala on January 11,2024 and again became alive after his ambulance carrying dead body got a jerk due to pothole , finally dies.
Gurnam Singh, his son while confirming his death said “ the cremation will be held today at 12:00 noon at our home town Nissing in Karnal”.
As per reports, Darshan Singh Brar was on a ventilator at a private hospital in Patiala for four days and, on Thursday morning, doctors said that his heartbeat had stopped. He was taken off the ventilator and seems dead .
The “body” of Darshan Singh Brar was being taken from Patiala to his home near Karnal, where mourning relatives had gathered, food had been laid out and wood had been collected for his funeral, when the ambulance hit a pothole.
Brar’s family said his grandson, who was with him in the ambulance, noticed him moving his hand and, on sensing a heartbeat, asked the ambulance driver to head to the nearest hospital. The doctors there declared him alive.
The 80-year-old heart patient had undergone a treatment at a hospital in Karnal, where his condition was said to be critical and was admitted to ICU. But despite his miracle survival, doctors best efforts, he passes away.
