Premier League for sports lovers and players of Sri Anandpur Sahib Constituency to begin from April 27 – Harjot Bains

Harjot Singh Bains, Cabinet Minister for Education and Information & Public Relations, Punjab, has announced the beginnings of a Premier League, giving a major boost to players and sports lovers of Sri Anandpur Sahib constituency. These matches will commence on April 27 in the presence of prominent sports personalities and the finals will be held on May 3. Teams from every village, ward, and locality will be able to participate in these competitions.
Providing details, Bains said that the biggest feature of this tournament is that teams from every village, ward, and locality of the constituency can participate. In villages with a population of more than one thousand, two teams will be allowed to participate. In towns like Nangal, Sri Anandpur Sahib, and Kiratpur Sahib, ward or locality-based teams will be formed. Each team will be given the opportunity to choose its own unique name, which will further enhance enthusiasm and interest in the competition.
Special facilities will also be provided to the participating teams in this tournament. Each team will be given jerseys and every player will receive a certificate. In addition, teams will be provided with a cricket kit, two bats, wickets, and a set of balls. This initiative is not limited to sports competitions only, but is also a strong step towards keeping youth away from drugs and motivating them towards a healthy lifestyle.
Attractive prizes have been announced for the winners of this competition. The team securing first position will receive a cash prize of Rs. 1.50 lakh along with a development grant of Rs. 10 lakh for its village. The second position will receive Rs. 1 lakh and a grant of Rs. 5 lakh for the village, while for the third position, a grant of Rs. 2.50 lakh has been announced. Apart from this, the “Man of the Tournament” will be awarded Rs. 50,000, and the Best Batsman and Best Bowler will receive prizes of Rs. 21,000 each.
This tournament will be held in Nangal, Sri Anandpur Sahib, and Kahiwal, and will begin with a grand opening ceremony featuring renowned personalities from the fields of sports and entertainment. Registration has been kept free for the first three days so that maximum youth can participate. The Minister appealed to the youth to take full advantage of this opportunity and give a new direction to their future through sports.
