President confers National Teachers Award-2023 to MRSPTU Professor Ashish Baldi for his exceptional work

Professor Ashish Baldi, a distinguished professor at Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda, has been honored with the National Teachers Award – 2023 in the higher education category.
The award was conferred by the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also interacted with all the awardees, including Dr. Baldi on Monday afternoon.
His excellence in research is also reflected in his inclusion in Top 2% Scientists in the world in the field of Pharmacy and Pharmacology.
This year, only 13 teachers from Higher education are selected from all higher and technical institutes of India. Prof. Baldi is one of them.
Dr. Baldi’s exceptional teaching and research in higher education have earned him this prestigious recognition from the Ministry of Education, University Grants Commission (UGC), and All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
His innovative pedagogy enhances academic delivery and supports students, making him stand out among educators.

Vice Chancellor, Prof. Buta Singh Sidhu praised Dr. Baldi’s student-centric approach, research excellence, administrative skills, and societal contributions, recognizing him as a distinguished teacher in Pharmacy.
Dr. Baldi is celebrated not only for his teaching but also for his societal contributions. He has actively worked on preventing farmer suicides, addressing agrarian issues, combating breast cancer, and contributing to healthcare product regulations. He also participates in Mission LiFE for environmental protection.
As the Dean of Research and Development at MRSPTU, Dr. Baldi introduced best practices in teaching, incorporating feedback-driven meta-cognition, real-time problem-solving, flipped classrooms, and argumentative discussions. He bridges theory and practice by integrating industrial and regulatory aspects, virtual labs, and learner-centered assignments.
Beyond teaching, Dr. Baldi’s mentorship has been instrumental in shaping students’ careers. He serves as Chief Mentor of IDEA Lab, nurturing innovative thinking and resulting in groundbreaking products.
With numerous patents, design patents, intellectual property rights, books, and publications, Dr. Baldi is a prominent researcher in pharmaceutical sciences and biotechnology. His research impact is substantial, with citations, research projects, and technology transfer to pharmaceutical industries.
