Prime accused in alleged Punjab police fake recruitment racket arrested by Malerkotla police-SSP

In a major breakthrough, Malerkotla Police have apprehended the prime accused in an alleged fake recruitment racket that duped aspiring Punjab police candidates of lakhs of rupees.
The accused Gurlal Singh alias Golu, a resident of Panjoli Kalan village in Fatehgarh Sahib, was arrested earlier today based on complaints filed by two victims in the past.
Providing additional details to the press, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh stated that the arrest followed thorough investigations prompted by complaints from Samsher Singh and Nisar Ali. These investigations revealed that the accused had collected over Rs 9 lakhs by falsely promising recruitment and exploiting claimed political connections.
The arrest follows months of extensive investigations led by SHO Amargarh Police Station under the supervision of DSP Amargarh Jatin Bansal, examining written complaints from Samsher Singh and Nisar Ali, natives of Malerkotla district.
The EOW wing of Malerkotla Police conducted forensic analysis of financial statements, revealing irregular cash withdrawals from the complainants’ accounts that substantiate allegations of deceit and fraud. The accused had frequently changed locations to evade arrest and abandoned his house a month ago. The police party apprehended him from village Panjoli , Fatehgarh Sahib, where he had been working under an assumed identity.
It was found that the accused exploited the aspirations of youth wishing to join the police force by making false claims about his connections. He dishonestly pocketed their hard-earned money without fulfilling any commitment,” Elaborating on the modus operandi, the SSP Khakh said, “the accused has targeted vulnerable rural folk knowing their limited means and lack of awareness. He breached their trust in the process and brought disrepute to the esteemed police institution.”

All possible efforts are being made to recover the swindled funds on priority and provide justice to affected parties.
The arrested accused will be produced in the local court and his remand will be taken to further investigate the case.
Lauding his team for stamping out such frauds compromising the safety and dignity of citizens, SSP Khakh asserted, “This arrest should serve as a strict warning against anti-social elements attempting to cheat innocent people through job rackets.
Malerkotla Police is committed to weeding out corruption and safeguarding residents from such schemes.”
