A protest Rally by PSEB Engineers Association Ropar region was held on Wednesday condemning the delay in granting time bound pay scales (TBPS) , non resolution of pay anomalies, pay scale related matters and intentional reduction of applicable pay scales for new AEs. Engineers resolved that protest will be intensified if issues are not resolved in time.
The meeting was chaired by Ravinder Khanna, Vice President PSEB engineers Association and addressed by Munish Sodhi, Harshel Singh,Ranjit Singh ,Monika Singla and others.
Parminder Singh Regional secretary in a press release said that they have written a number of times to PSPCL management and Punjab government to solve these pending issues but so far no action has been taken. Despite shortage of staff the thermal plant is being run to meet the power requirement during paddy season and power generation from all the four units is being done at the maximum. The increased generation at Ropar is helping PSPCL to become a profit making company. In view of increased power demand the state government should set up a super critical thermal plant at Ropar without any delay.
Ravinder Khanna said that PSPCL has been made a profitable unit by the un-tired services of engineers and employees ,even then their dues are not being given.
Protest Rally: PSPCL engineers condemn delay in release of arrears, full scale for new engineers. As per available information, a great injustice and deliberate delay is being done to the newly recruited engineers ,who are being denied proper pay scale as per existing pattern. The assistant engineers recruited by erstwhile PSEB were allowed higher scales than their counterparts in the Punjab government and the differential has always been maintained, in view of the very odious nature of the duty of power engineers.
