Kamalpreet Kaur Discus Thrower and Anu Rani Jevellian Thrower, both employees are of Diesel Loco Modernisation Works, Patiala a unit of Indian Railways , have been participating in 24th National Federation Cup being held at NIS, Patiala.
Kamalpreet Kaur of DMW has set a new national record of 65.06m in women discus throw on 20.3.2021 and won gold medal. . The Olympic qualification benchmark is 63.5 metres. She threw 65.06m, going past the nine-year old national record of 64.76m by Krishna Punia and the Olympic qualifying mark of 63.50m. She qualifies for Tokyo Olympic.
Anu Rani of DMW smashed her own National Record in women Javelin throw with a throw of 63.24m and won the Gold Medal.
