PSEB Engineers Association (PSEBEA) contributed Rs 36.29 lakh in Chief Minister’s relief fund by handing over the cheque to Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Saturday. Lauding this benevolent gesture of PSEBEA , the Chief Minister said these donations will go a long way in extending a helping hand to the needy people.

Ajaypal Singh Atwal, General Secretary, said that the Association also discussed the issue regarding merger of PSPCL and PSTCL  in detail. Documents related to the merger of other state power utilities, Kerala, MEDA were also shared. CM assured to call a meeting of all stakeholders soon.

He said that  the lack of coordination is not only causing issues between the two corporations but also delaying industrial connections. There was an urgent need for the merger of the PSPCL and the PSTCL . Owing to the non-timely planning and upgradation of 220KV and 66KV transmission systems, many industrial connections remain pending in the state’s industrial hubs. Besides causing a loss of revenue to the corporations, this also undermines the state’s efforts to improve its ease of doing business .

The land or building of a 66KV substation is not used for augmentation to 220KV. Similarly, 220KV substations are not used to augment 66/11KV capacity.
