AAP MLA fails to get relief from the court; bail dismissed, surrenders before court

Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, aam aadmi party (AAP) MLA from Sanour gets a jolt when his bail plea is dismissed by the additional district and sessions judge court, Patiala in an FIR number 87/ 2025. This is the second FIR against him. Earlier Pathanmjra was booked by police as he is said to be accused of rape, cheating, and criminal intimidation and arrested from Gwalior in Madha Pradesh.

As per available information, police has booked him in a mining case and lodged an FIR against him. The FIR (No. 87) was registered at the Julkan police station in Patiala district on September 5, 2025, under the Mining Act.

While Patiala Police, taking action in a case registered under the Mining Act against Sanour constituency MLA Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, have formally arrested him. Providing information in this regard, SP (Investigation) Patiala Gurbans Singh Bains stated that MLA Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra voluntarily surrendered before the Court.

Bains further added that Pathanmajra has currently been sent back to Bathinda Jail. The investigation in the case is ongoing, and if required, police remand may also be obtained in the coming days.

On the other hand, “The court has extended Pathanmajra’s judicial custody in rape case by another 14 days. As the matter is sensitive, all details cannot be made public at this stage, and further action is being taken by the police based on the case file” added police official.
