The PSEB Engineers’ Association strongly today condemns the activities of a few disgruntled engineer officers who under management pressure and political patronage, have colluded with vested interests to harm the state power sector at this critical juncture.
PSEB Engineers Association said that a few misguided engineers driven by their personnel gains had a meeting with the CMD at Mohali. The majority of engineers refused to attend this meeting though a few were lured to attend. It may be mentioned that the delegation from Association was present at the PSTCL Guest House with the few who were present in this meeting l to them was to come to Association to discuss their personal issues.
Ajay Pal Singh Atwal said that it is a matter of serious concern that these few officers held a meeting with the CMD, PSPCL today in an unofficial manner, bypassing the duly elected and representative body of engineers and other official channels. The Association views this as a deliberate attempt to create confusion, and derail the ongoing struggle to protect the power sector properties for their personal gains.
The PSEB Engineers’ Association y appeals to all engineers to firmly resist any attempt to sell or compromise public power sector assets. The ongoing struggle against sale of power sector properties, the illegitimate suspension of CE RTP, impediments in establishing of 2×800 MW super critical units at Ropar under state sector, political interference and the backdoor dealings that threaten the future of the power sector, the agitation will be further intensified.
The Association appeals to the Management to refrain from engaging with such unrepresentative selfish coterie and to instead engage in meaningful dialogue with the legitimate elected representatives of engineers. Any encouragement to such elements will only aggravate unrest and further harm industrial harmony.
