PSPCL CMD gives bid adieu with honesty is the best policy message to employees

Today Er. Baldev Singh Sran, CMD Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), retired from the post. He was appointed as CMD of PSPCL, on June, 5, 2018, for two years.
A technocrat, Sran retired as PSPCL chief engineer in February 2018 and appointed as CMD in June 2018. He was the president of PSEB engineers association for five years.
He was expecting another extension from the State government, as the government didn’t advertise and invite the applications for the post of CMD, as they did ,by advertising and inviting applications for the three posts of Director (Generation, Commercial, Distribution ), PSPCL. During his selection as CMD, it was for the first time that the Punjab government had conducted interviews for the post of the CMD, PSPCL.
Before relinquishing the CMD charge, he wrote a letter to all the employees of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) and share his feelings, gave advice. He wrote” One of the very first stories and lessons we learn as children is about honesty. It sounds like an obvious choice when we hear it. But somewhere along the way we lose focus. Honesty is the single most important principle that one must practice but let me tell you, it is not convenient. But as some wise man said “Principles only mean something when they are hard to stand by”. As I complete my professional career today, I can tell you from personal experience that honesty is not only a virtue that we all should practice more as it is the right thing to do, but also because nothing else will give you the courage and strength to stand tall and fight the unjust system as honesty does.
He even thank everyone who I had the opportunity to work with and to the people of Punjab, all I want to say is thank you for reposing your faith in me, thank you for challenging me,thank you for criticizing me, thank you for accepting me, thank you for teaching me.
