PSPCL gave appointment letter to 635 Contractor workers
Bathinda– Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) in compliance to the directions of Capt. Amrinder Singh, Chief Minister, Punjab, has initiated the process of giving practical shape to the decision of issuing appointment letters through PESCO to 635 No. contractor workers.
These workers were declared surplus after closure of Guru Nanak Dev Thermal Plant (GNDTP), Bathinda. In this context, a special function was organized by PSPCL at GNDTP, Bathinda today where Gurpreet Singh Kangar, Cabinet Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy Sources, Punjab Government handed over appointment letters to these contractor workers.
While addressing the gathering on this occasion, Gurpreet Singh Kangar stated that to keep with the promise of jobs in all homes made by Capt. Amrinder Singh, Chief Minister in the Election Manifesto, PSPCL had started the process of filling up 2800, 300, 248 and 330 (300 in PSPCL & 30 in PSTCL) vacancies of Assistant Linemen, JE’s, SSA’s and LDC’s respectively. The eligible candidates would get appointment letters very shortly. He expressed hope that on one hand, the Punjab Government by providing jobs to the youth of the State, would make Punjab more prosperous while on the other hand, the youth would make their contribution in taking the State on the path of more progress. R.P.Pandove, Director/Administration, Er.O.P.Garg, Director/Commercial alongwith PSPCL’s other high-level officers and employees in large number participated in this function.
