PSPCL major announcement- resuming meter reading; reopening cash counters

Capt. Amarinder Singh Chief Minister Punjab has instructed Punjab State Power Corporation Limited to resume all urgent works to prepare for the coming summer and paddy season. All works related to construction and maintenance activities are being resumed to ensure interruption free and reliable power supply to consumers of Punjab. Stores and Metering labs will also be opened for issue of urgent material and meters as per requirement.
Meter reading which was earlier stopped due to lockdown, is being resumed to ensure correct billing as per actual consumption. This will help in reducing the number of billing complaints. All meter readers will be asked to wear masks and gloves and to maintain social distancing. To reduce the number of billing complaints, faulty meters will be replaced on priority.
All 515 cash counters across Punjab will also start operations from 8-5-2020 from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm for the convenience of electricity consumers. PSPCL appeals to consumers to prefer use of digital means of payment and visit cash collection counter only if necessary, while maintaining proper social distancing. Consumers are also requested to use 1912 or PSPCL Mobile App to register complaints related to Billing/ Metering and Supply.
Captain Amarinder also permitted replacement of the faulty and defected meters besides opening other activities including stores and metering labs for issue of urgent material and meters as per requirement. Likewise, replacement of faulty/defective meters to reduce the number of complaints have also been permitted.
