PSPCL, PSTCL head office go powerless; Rajindra hospital once again feels the heat without power

Today, the head office of Punjab state power corporation limited (PSPCL) and Punjab state transmission corporation limited (PSTCL) goes powerless for around 45 minutes.
On the other hand Rajindra Hospital once again goes without power as the genset failed to work, even after the strict instructions by the health minister Dr Balbir Singh. An official on the condition of anonymity said the genset didn’t work in the surgery wing. Another said the OPD section of the hospital too feels the heat of no power.
As per sources this is the first time that the head office of Power Corporation goes without power for such a long period.
As per available information, the powercom officials were detecting the fault that kept Rajindra Hospital in dark, last month. During the work technical glitch again occurred at the site. The powercom authorities immediately shifted the power to the newly installed alternate11 KV grid. During the shifting another fault occurred and the attempt to shift the power got hampered. The powercom authorities immediately came into action mode and tried hard and successfully shift the power to another line.
When contacted the medical superintendent of Rajindra hospital Dr Girish Sahni, he said “ yes the power had gone for some time. PSPCL engineers managed the situation in time and shifted the load to another line. But in the mean time all the gensets remained functional. When asked about the non starting of genset in surgery wing, he denied the information and said” it worked along with other gensets.”

Earlier on July 21, Rajindra hospital power got snapped at around 8:00 pm in the evening and the hospital remained without electricity for around three hours. The fault is rectified at 11:00 pm and power was restored.
