PSPCL sets new daily power supply record in a single day

Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) on July 16 set a new record of 3626 lakh units(LU) of power supply in a single day with the maximum demand of 15919 MW without any power cut. Last month the maximum power supply on a single day made by PSPCL was 3563 lakh units on June 26 .
On Tuesday the maximum demand was around 15919 MW and all the thermal units in the state and private sector are running to cater to paddy demand. The power supply from the state run thermal plants was 435 LU, Hydro generation of 213 LU,and renewable generation of 88 LU. The Rajpura and Talwandi sabo thermal units generated 679 LU yesterday.
The coal stock at Lehra Mohabbat, Ropar and Goindwal thermal plants are for 18 days, 14 days and 8 days respectively. The coal stock in private sector thermal plants Rajpura has 28 days, and Talwandi Sabo 5 days.
The water level in Bhakra reservoir is 1597.57 feet which is 43 feet less than last year’s level of 1640.73 feet on the corresponding day. At Ranjit Sagar water level is 499.61meters while it was 532.32 meters on corresponding day last year.
