“PSPCL staff to make aggressive efforts to control the theft of power from the border areas”-Er.Bal Krishan

In order to moblise the PSPCL staff to make aggressive efforts to control the theft of power from the border areas, Er.Bal Krishan chief engineer distribution of border zone of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited has rushed to various Sub-Divisions , Sur Singh, Bhikhiwind , Amarkot , Khemkaran and Patti falling under Tarn Taran circle, along with senior officers of distribution and enforcement wing of Amritsar circle.
The main objective of the visit was to know the ground reality of electricity theft prone areas, motivate the staff and to make them aware of zero tolerance policy of Punjab Government against Theft and Corruption. Er. Bal Krishan addressed the staff of all sub-divisions and made officials aware of their duties towards PSPCL and public especially regarding electricity theft. While addressing the the staff was given clear instructions that those who will work hard and with honesty will be appreciated and those who don’t, will be dealt strictly. He further emphasised that their are clear instructions against theft of electricity and corruption. Er Raman Sharma, Dy.CE Enf. Amritsar, Er. G.S Khehra , Dy CE/DS Tarn Taran and Er. TP Singh, ASE Enf also addressed the staff and aware the staff about zero tolerance policy of Punjab Government and Management against theft of electricity and corruption.
Er. Bal Krishan along with other officers also visited the various villages such as Mehdipura, Mashike etc under Amarkot, Khemkaran and Patti Sub-Divisions where work of locking pillar boxes and sealing of meters is carried-on in full swing. The team also interacted with consumers and told them to avail the benefit of Punjab Government’s 600 free units scheme and to use electricity judiciously. The PSPCL team encouraged the staff and motivated them to continue the work until the losses are reduced significantly. The staff seemed encouraged and ensured to co-operate in the loss reduction campaign. The team also visited Patti where the work of assessing feeder-wise, Transformer-wise losses is being done under pilot project Powerthon 2022 by the firm R.E Connect as Er. Gulshan Chottani, ASE/IT being nodal officer of PSPCL who was also present at site. In this project, the existing meters will be made smart by attaching the small device which will provide the online data of consumer to the main server of PSPCL, this will also be helpful in studying and to reduce the losses.
Er.Bal Krishan also appealed to all its esteemed consumers authorities in controlling the menace of theft of electricity.
