PTA won PUTA elections

Punjabi University Teachers Association (PUTA) elections 2021-22 were held today, in which the Progressive Teachers Alliance (PTA) won again.
The election was fought under the leadership of Progressive Teachers Alliance (PTA) convener Dr. Rajbans Singh Gill, Co-Convener Dr. Nishan Singh Deol, Dr. Dharamvir Sharma and Rajinder Singh.
In the post of the President, Dr. Bhupinder Singh Virk (281) defeated Dr. Jaswinder Singh Brar (179) a big difference with 102 votes , for the post of vice president Teachers United Front (TUF) candidate Gurnam Virk ( 233 votes) defeated PTA candidate Poonam Patiyar (215 votes) and the post of Secretary Er. Sukhjinder Singh Butter defeated Er. Sikandar Singh Cheema by a margin of 83 votes. Er. Sukhjinder Singh Butter got 271 and Er. Sikandar Singh Cheema got 188 votes.
For the post of Joint Secretary cum Treasurer Dr. Jasandeep Singh Sandhu (239 votes) defeated Gurjit Singh Bhattal (218 votes) . Progressive Teachers Alliance (PTA) Executive Member Dr. Navdeep Kamal, Dr. Gulshan Bansal and Dr. Ranwinderjit Kaur was the winner.
The other members elected are Gulashan Bansal, Amandeep Singh, Bhiminder Singh, Gaurav Gupta, Navdeep Kawal, Ravinderjit Kaur and Baldeep Singh.
The credit for this victory goes to Progressive Teachers Alliance (PTA) is the result of serious and consistent work for teachers by every activist, convener and co-convener and previous PUTA. The Progressive Teachers Alliance (PTA) would like to thank all the faculty of the Punjabi University who made PUTA team the winner with such a huge response. At the same time, the Progressive Teachers Alliance (PTA) assures that PUTA will works for
the teachers, the grants due to the University and the betterment of the University.
