Punjab Government expands 400th Prakash Purb Executive Committee

Punjab Government has further expanded the Executive Committee set up under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Punjab to decide about functions/events to be organized and projects to be undertaken in connection with the 400th Prakash Purb Celebrations of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadar ji.
Punjab Government expands 400th Prakash Purb Executive Committee.Divulging further, an official spokesperson of the government said that Rana K.P Singh, Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha and MLA Anandpur Sahib, Manish Tewari, Member of Parliament, Anandpur Sahib, Gurjit Singh Aujla, Member of Parliament, Amritsar and Santokh Singh, MLA Baba Bakala have been inducted as members in the executive committee.
Earlier, describing the 400th ‘Parkash Purab’ of Guru Tegh Bahadur as a fortunate occasion for all, Capt Amarinder Singh, Chief Minister Punjab had said the ninth Sikh guru occupies a special place in the country’s history.
Guru Tegh Bahadur sacrificed his life to uphold the principles of religious freedom and amity and was, therefore, rightfully called ‘Hind-di-Chaadar’, he said.
The Punjab government has already decided to commemorate Guru Tegh Bahadur’s 400th birth anniversary on April 18, 2021. It has planned to organise a mega function on his 400th birth anniversary at Anandpur Sahib.
Guru Tegh Bahadur was born on April 1, 1621. He resisted forced conversions of Hindus, Kashmiri Pandits and non-Muslims to Islam and was killed in 1675 on the orders of the then Mughal emperor in Delhi.
