Punjab government is going to start Electronic Intensive Care Unit (eICU) for critical patients -CM

Ushering a new era of Health Revolution in the state, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday dedicated first of its kind Mata Kaushalya Hospital at Patiala.

Equipped with ultra modern facilities, this hospital will cater to the population of around 20 lakh people in and around the historic town of Patiala. This hospital has 300 beds and now another 66 beds are being added in this prestigious hospital. The hospital has been strengthened at a cost of Rs. 13.80 crores and is equipped with facilities of ICU, NICU and others.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister announced that Punjab has heralded a new revolution in the field of Healthcare sector. He announced that emergency services will be operational in all hospitals across the state within a year to save the precious lives of people. Bhagwant Singh Mann also said that the state government is going to start Electronic Intensive Care Unit (eICU) system to provide critical health services for critical patients of the remote and rural areas.

The Chief Minister said that Aam Aadmi Clinics are acting as a cornerstone to revamp the healthcare system in the state. He said that more than 59 lakh patients have been benefited in such clinics so far. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that in the larger interest of the public the Aam Aadmi Clinic and CM Di Yogshala concept should be replicated all over India.

The Chief Minister said that Rs 550 crore Sehatmand Mission Punjab has been launched for the well being of the people. He said that Punjab will be made a frontrunner state in fields of education and healthcare services. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Sehatmand Mission Punjab will give a facelift to all the government hospitals across the state.

The Chief Minister said that Sehatmand Punjab App has also been launched which will enable the people to locate nearby Aam Aadmi Cinics at the click of mobile. He said that the state government aims to start Ayush pharmacy in all government hospitals to provide free medicines to people like Aam Aadmi Clinics. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the day is not far when Punjab will emerge as a model state to provide quality medical treatment to people.

The Chief Minister said that the medicines are being provided free of cost to the people in the Aam Aadmi Clinics set up across the state. He also announced that Punjab will be the first state in the country which is going to start patient facilitation centres in government hospitals. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that a NICU ward has been set up in the hospital after upgrading it and equipping it with the latest facilities.

Lauding the Bhagwant Singh Mann led state government, the Delhi Chief Minister said that an era of Health revolution has started in the state. He said that the aim is to provide quality health services to the people of the state at free of cost. Arvind Kejriwal said that earlier the rich class had access to quality health services in private hospitals but now the common man will get all those facilities here.

The Delhi Chief Minister said that like Aam Aadmi Clinics and Schools of Eminence these hospitals will also be multiplied across the state. He bemoaned that earlier the government hospitals in the state were dilapidated but now they are equipped with modern technology. Arvind Kejriwal said that these facilities have nothing to do with elections but the sole motive is to ensure public welfare.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister and Delhi Chief Minister also visited the various wards of the hospital and interacted with the people. During the interaction the patients and their family members expressed complete satisfaction over the facilities being offered in the government hospitals. They said that the facilities being provided at the government hospitals are much more than those at the private hospitals.

The patients and their attendant also hailed the Chief Minister for taking several path breaking initiatives for revolutionizing the health care sector. They said that these hospitals will go a long way in facilitating the common man. They also lauded the state government for making strenuous efforts for carving out a healthy Punjab.
