Punjab govt ask employees to adhere to govt orders

In a bid to save power, Punjab government has issues orders to all its employees, including the employees of all boards, corporations to switch off the lights, electrical appliances, air conditioners, fans etc whenever they leaves their offices, rooms.
It’s a common practice in government offices that the staff or the staff attached with officer switch on the lights, fans, air conditioners in the morning at 7:30 am and switch off the same at 2:00 pm even when the officer is on tour, on leave or not in the office.
In many offices, the class IV employees, staff can be seen sitting in the officers’ room, whole day with air conditioner, lights, fans on , when the officer is outside the office.
Most of the staff leaves office, keeping the electrical instruments in running mode.
To control this, Punjab government has once again issues orders to switch off the lights, fans etc whenever they leave their seat and has asked the employees “to ensure that no computer UPS, AC, lights etc. left switch “ON” by the users when leaving the office”.
In a bid to save power during the scorching summer months, the Punjab government had announced a change in office timings for all its government offices. From May 2 to July 15, government offices timings were fixed, changed to 7:30 am to 2 pm.
