In a sudden move Punjab government has transferred all top three officials –Principal, Vice Principal and Medical superintendent of Govt Medical College/ Govt Rajindra Hospital Patiala with immediate effect. Its in the first time of Government Medical College Patiala’s history that all top three officials- Principal, Vice Principal,and MS transferred in one go.

To bring more transparency and further strengthen the work of Goverment Medical College and Hospital, Patiala, Professor of Anatomy Department Dr. Rajan Singla has been appointed as Principal of the college, While Professor of Medicine Department Raminder Pal Singh Sibia has been selected as vice principal and Dr. Harnam Singh Lekhi has been designated as Medical Superintendent of GMC Patiala.
Divulging more about the changes were made in organisational structure of Government Medical College and Hospital, Patiala, Medical Education and Research Minister O.P. Soni said that these changes were made to invigorate the work of the medical college and hospital and it will further energized the staff to work with more zeal. He said during his last visit to GMC Patiala he felt the need to change administrational structure to make working of college more efficient.
Meanwhile, Punjab State Medical & Dental Teachers Association Patiala Unit welcomes the decision of punjab govt for change in the guard of Govt Medical College and Rajindra Hospital Patiala.
Dr DS Bhullar ,President said ‘We hope it will further improve the patient care especially covid related health services being imparted to serious patients of more than ten districts of Punjab and Haryana “
Bhullar further added that “we extend full support and cooperation to the new administrative team in the best interest of the college and the Hospital “
