Punjab government announces bus fare hike, after the recent hike of petrol-diesel prices, in the country.

As per sources, the two public transport bodies operating in the state –Pepsu road Transport Corporation (PEPSU) and Punjab Roadways has requested the govt to increase the fare

The Punjab government announced a hike in fares for ordinary, ordinary HVAC (heating, Ventilation and air-conditioned), Integral coaches and Super integral coach buses in the wake of increase in diesel prices.

Punjab govt hike bus fare as earlier, the fare was 122 paise per KM for ordinary buses and government has not increase any fare for this category.

The fare for ordinary HVAC (heating, Ventilation and air-conditioned), which was 146.20 paise per KM and now the government has increased 20% excess of the ordinary bus fare.

The fare for Integral coach, which was 219.60 paise per KM and now the government, has increased the fare, 80% excess of the ordinary bus fare

The fare for Super Integral coach, which was 244.00 paise per KM and now the government has increased the fare, 100% excess of the ordinary bus fare.
