Punjab Kisan leaders to pay homage to “Father of Green Revolution”-organising Bhog and Antim Ardas

For farmers of India, particularly Punjab,Dr MS Swaminathan was a Living Legend. Dr. Swaminathan will posthumously remembered for his monumental contributions to India’s agricultural sector. Such was Swaminathan’s popularity a farmer Manjit Singh Gill, from the Ghal Kalan village in Punjab’s Moga district, built a statue of the “living legend” and installed it on his farm.
To pay their homage, last respect to the Father of Green Revolution in India Dr MS Swaminathan, Kisan leader Balbir Singh Rajewal is going to organize a “Bhog and Antim Ardas in the everlasting memory of legendary scientist at Jalandhar on October 8,2023.
As per the program, the Akhand path will begin on October 6,2023 and Bhog and Antim Ardas will be held at Gurudwara Singh Sabha, Urban Estate Phase 2, Jalandhar at 10 AM.
As per BKU Rajewal leader Kashmir Singh said, the invitation is open to all and almost all Kisan leaders, kisan unions of Punjab will come together and pay their last respect to Dr MS Swaminathan on October 8. He said “Dr Swaminathan had devoted his entire life to constantly thinking about how to improve the lives of the farmers and how to give them what they deserve.”
Dr. M.S. Swaminathan, often hailed as the “Father of the Green Revolution,” played a pivotal role in transforming India into a self-reliant nation in wheat and rice production. His path breaking research and dedication to improving agricultural practices have had a lasting impact on the country’s food security.
