Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes provides justice to women lecturer

After the active intervention of Punjab State Commission for Scheduled Castes, the Technical Education Department, Punjab has elevated one of the Lecturer Shrishti Chaudhary to the top of the seniority list on the basis of merit after her battle went to two and half years.

Disclosing this here today, Chairperson of the Commission Tajinder Kaur, IAS (Retd.) said that Shrishti Chaudhary was pressed behind in the seniority list prepared on the basis of birth date.  Shrishti Chaudhary take up the matter with the Directorate of Technical Education, after that the victim sought help from the Commission in this regard and complaint was lodged with the State Commission for Scheduled Castes.

Tajinder Kaur said that after hearing the arguments of the Technical education department, the Commission upheld the complaint of Chaudhary in the light of various instructions passed by Punjab Government, different decisions of the  Supreme Court and the Punjab Civil Services (General and Common Conditions of Services) Rules, 1994 and ruled in favor of the victim. In view of the aforesaid decision, the Technical Education Department, after reconsidering the matter at the government level, released the final seniority list, in which the name of Shrishti Chaudhary placed on the basis of her merit instead of birth date.
