Punjabi girl surpasses all in beauty pageant- Sikh girl bags Miss Universe title

Once again Indian beauty surpasses all. India’s Harnaaz Sandhu has been crowned Miss Universe 2021. Punjab-based Harnaaz Sandhu represented India at the 70th Miss Universe 2021, held in Eilat, Israel.
Harnaaz was crowned Miss Universe 2021 after beating Paraguay’s Nadia Ferreira and South Africa’s Lalela Mswane. The model, who’s Instagram bio reads, “Shine like the whole Universe is yours” proved right.
Started in the year 1952 wherein Finland’s Armi Kuusela (then 17 years old) won the first crown, only two Indians have won the title of Miss Universe before Harnaaz Sandhu – actors Sushmita Sen in 1994 and Lara Dutta in 2000.

Before winning Miss Universe title, Harnaaz Sandhu has won several beauty pageants in the past. She has been crowned Miss Diva 2021. Harnaaz, in fact, was also placed in the Top 12 at Femina Miss India 2019, BB Colors Femina Miss India Punjab 2019, Sephora Miss Glamourous Look ’19, Times Fresh Face Miss Chandigarh 2017,Miss Max Emerging Star India 2018 Winner.
Harnaaz Sandhu did her schooling in Chandigarh’s Shivalik Public School. She is currently pursuing her Masters degree in Public Administration from Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Chandigarh. Her mother, Ravinder Sandhu, is a doctor. She is currently working as the SMO Senior Medical Officer at Sohana Hospital. Her father PS Sandhu is in the real estate business.
Harnaaz, who is an actor by profession, is inspired by actor and Miss World 2000 Priyanaka Chopra and her body of work. She can “mimic almost anyone including animals”, is a “closet singer” and *Loves “writing couplets in her mother tongue Punjabi”
Now Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu will reside in New York and participate in a number of events globally.
