Punjabi Singer summoned by Punjab State Women Commission

Taking suo moto notice of case of Punjabi singer Lehmbar Hussainpuri who allegedly maltreated with his wife and daughter, the Punjab State Women Commission has asked the singer to appear before the commission on June 4, 2021.

Disclosing this here today the Chairperson of Women’s Commission Manisha Gulati said that the matter came to her notice through media inputs.

Punjabi Singer summoned by Punjab State Women Commission .In her order, she directed the Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar to compliance the order and ensure that the concerned inquiry officer and both parties would appear before the Commission on June 4, 2021 at 12 noon.

Punjabi singer  Lehmbar Hussainpuri, who lives in Deol Nagar, Jalandhar has been accused of assault by his wife, children and sister-in-law. On Monday, there was a ruckus outside the singer’s house for nearly two hours. Police sent  Lehmbar Hussainpuri’s wife, sister-in-law and children to the government hospital for medical treatment. On the other hand,  Lehmbar Hussainpuri called the allegations baseless and said that my wife fights with me as she listens to his sisters-in-law and not mine . During this, the family members of Lahmber had also fainted, which was handled by the people.

Sister-in-law of Hussainpuri, Rajni Arora, said “it has been 14 years since the marriage of brother-in-law with his sister, there have three children. He suspects my sister and hurls dirty abuses. He has got CCTV installed in all the bedrooms and bathrooms of the house.Today some people came to rent brother-in-law’s kothi in front of the house, then brother-in-law reached here and created a ruckus and beat up all of us. We are tolerating this from a long time. But now we want justice.”

When Lahamber was asked about these allegations, he said that when he saw unknown people in the kothi on CCTV, he came and took them out.  He termed the allegations as baseless
