Punjabi university gets new Dean Research

Dr. Ashok Kumar Tiwary, Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences & Drug Research has taken the charge of Dean Research of Punjabi University, Patiala on 12 July 2021. Dr. Tiwary has been serving in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences & Drug Research of the University since 1995. He has to his credit 130 research papers published in journals of high repute with an i-10 index of 80. He has guided 15 Ph. D. students and handled major projects sanctioned from DST, AICTE, ICMR, UGC and DBT.
He has published eight books and has contributed chapters in Encyclopedia of Pharmaceutical Technology (Marcel Dekker, New York, USA) and Preclinical Development Handbook (John Wiley, NJ, USA). Dr. Tiwary has been the Coordinator of UGC-SAP (I & II) as well as DST-FIST programs sanctioned to the department from 2009-2020. He has successfully completed a consultancy project sanctioned by Kemin Industries Inc, Iowa, USA. He holds US and Indian Patents on, respectively, sustained release formulation and polymorphic form of an anti-hypertensive drug. He is Life Member of APTI and Indian Pharmaceutical Association
