Punjabi University Psychology-NSS department celebrated “Mental Health Day”

Mental Health Day is celebrated globally on 10th October and WHO’s theme for 2022 is ‘Make Mental health and well-being for all a global priority’.

To honor this theme, under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Professor Arvind, the faculty of Department of Psychology, Punjabi University, Patiala has been conducting seminars for all the students of the Five Year Integrated Programs since last week focusing on adjustment issues, relationship issues, cyber bullying, academic pressure, substance addiction, etc.

Furthermore, to promote awareness on Mental health, a program was conducted today, in collaboration with the NSS department, by the students of the Psychology department and NSS volunteers, led by Professor Mamta Sharma, Head of the department.

The chief guest, Professor Ajitha, Director (Sports) graced the occasion. The entire program comprised of a poster competition, songs and poetry recitations, a nukkad naatak and Mental Health awareness rally that was enacted in multiple locations of the University. The message being promoted by the Psychology department was that Mental Health must be prioritized by one and all.
