Punjabi University’s Researcher Bhagwant Singh and Assistant Professor Dr. Sikandar Singh Cheema have patented a design to deal with malicious software ransomware.
Dr. Cheema and researcher Bhagwant Singh of department of computer science and engineering said that, this innovative portable device is equipped with advanced artificial intelligence technology to offer comprehensive protection against ransomware threats. Its compact size allows users to carry it with them wherever they go, ensuring continuous defense against ransomware attacks.
According to them, the device operates autonomously, minimizing the need for user intervention while maximizing security. key features include real-time protection, multi-layer defense mechanisms, and offline functionality, ensuring uninterrupted security even in remote environments.
The device continuously monitors file activities, system processes, and network traffic, swiftly responding to potential ransomware threats by initiating immediate actions to block malicious processes and prevent further encryption of files and data. In the event of a confirmed ransomware attack, the device isolates infected files and processes, quarantining them to prevent the spread of the ransomware.
It also offers automatic remediation, rolling back changes to encrypted files or restoring them from backup to minimize the impact of the attack. Additionally, the device provides detailed reports and logs of ransomware incidents, facilitating analysis and continuous improvement of its detection capabilities.
This portable ransomware protection device is the ultimate solution for individuals and organizations seeking reliable defense against ransomware threats. It empowers users to safeguard their valuable data with confidence and peace of mind, wherever they are.
