Punjabi University student Abhinav ranked 97 in IES 2019

A student of Punjabi University, Patiala, Abhinav Goyal, has cleared UPSC Indian Engineering Services 2019. He got his number 97 in All India Ranking in recently declared results. Vice-Chancellor Prof. B. S. Ghuman has congratulated him on this national level achievement. While speaking here Prof. Ghuman said it is very first time that any student of Civil Engineering Department could achieve this new height. In addition to the ability and hard work of the student, the leadership and quality education provided by the department are also the major factors for his achievement, he said. He especially congratulated to the entire faculty of concerned department as well as the Placement Cell. Such achievements prove the quality being provided by Punjabi University, he further added. He also hoped for more students to inspire from this.
Director, Placement Cell Dr. Manjit Singh and Co-ordinator Dr. Jaswinder Singh told that Abhinav is a very humble student with ordinary background who did his entire preparation staying at Punjabi University Campus.
Dr. Karanvir Singh Randhawa, HOD, Civil Dept, while sharing his views about Abhinav, told that there are 38 students of Civil Engineering Department, who have been selected as SDO in various departments of Punjab Government as well as Cetral Government during past two years.
Abhinav, himself gave full credit to his Alma mater Punjabi University Patiala and especially to the Civil Engineering Department for enabling him to get such a grand achievement.
