Punjab’s powerful ministers with key departments may lose cabinet berth in tomorrow’s expected cabinet expansion

Speculations are rife that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will expand his cabinet on September 22,2024 as five MLAs are expected to be inducted as ministers and four cabinet minister are going to lose their minister ship.
As per available information, the swearing-in ceremony will take place at 5:00 pm at Punjab Raj Bhawan on Monday.
It will be the first cabinet expansion of the Bhagwant Mann-led government after the Aam Aadmi Party won crucial elections, bye-elections this year.
The five expected MLAs namely Barinder Kumar Goyal (MLA from Lehraghagga in Sangrur), Dr Ravjot Kaur (MLA from Shamchurasi in Hoshiarpur), Taranpreet Kaur Saund (MLA from Khanna in Ludhiana), Mohinder Bhagat (MLA from Jalandhar West in Jalandhar )and Hardip Singh Mundian (MLA Sahnewal in Ludhiana) are doing the rounds for the ministerial positions.
The four cabinet ministers who may lose their cabinet berths include Chetan Singh Jouramajra (information and public relations, water resources, mining & geology, freedom fighters, defence welfare services, horticulture, soil and water conservation) , Brahm Shankar Jimpa (Revenue, Rehabilitation & Disaster Management, water Supply and Sanitation) Anmol Gagan Man (tourism and cultural affairs, investement promotion, labour and hospitality), Balkar Singh (local government & parliamentary affairs).
As per unconfirmed reports, all the above ministers has tendered their resignations before the cabinet expansion.
