Punjab’s youngest chief engineer appointed as Secretary, Bhakhra Beas Management Board (BBMB)

Harinder Pal Singh Singh Bedi, who is the youngest chief engineer of Punjab, working as Chief Engineer, Water Resources department has been appointed as the secretary, Bhakhra Beas Management Board (BBMB) after the end of deputation period of, Satish Singla.
Dr. Harinder Pal Singh Bedi, was also the three finalist for the post of Chairman, BBMB in the year 2023. He was posted as Chief Engineer/Managing Director Punjab Water Resources Management & Development Corporation Ltd., Water Resources Department, Punjab govt at that time. His name was strongly recommended by the principal secretary of the department Krishan Kumar and by the state govt at that time.
Dr Harinder Pal Singh Bedi, who is the youngest chief engineer has a impeccable career . He has done his doctorate in Interpretation of Indus Water Treaty and International Riparian Law) from Chandigarh University SAS Nagar Mohali, in December 2022. He has in his credit for publishing three papers in international journals so far: a) status quo or different canal system of Punjab India et. 2021, IOP conference series earth and Environment science 889 012063. b) Overview of various factors impacting the distribution of river water of Punjab, India, et 2021, IOP conference series, Earth and environment science 889 012179 c) distribution Indus River Water: background and need of re-evaluation et 2022 (under review ). He was Gold medalist in B.Tech Civil Engineering from prestigious institute NIT, Jalandhar . He is also the topper of the PPSC’s 1999 batch.
He has an experience of two years from 1997-1999 for working at a dam site as an Engineer in British Columbia, Surrey Canada, with Foundation Group of companies. He is also involved in laying the foundation of Nathpa Dam of Nathpa Jhakri Power Corporation Dam at Bhaba Nagar Kinnour Himachal Pradesh.
