PUTA shared grievances with better half of CM; reached Moti Bagh palace

Punjabi university teachers association (PUTA) president Dr Nishan Singh Deol and secretary Dr Avneet Pal Singh today met Preneet Kaur, member parliament from Patiala and better half of CM Punjab, Capt Amarinder Singh.
After the meeting, Deol said,” we had informed the member parliament Preneet Kaur about the grievances of the teaching and non-teaching staff of the Punjabi University. “
He further added, in the meeting, we had a discussion on all the problems, faced by the faculty and the staff of the university, about its solution. Deol said, we had also informed the better half of the chief minister of Punjab, Preneet Kaur about the 20-point check list condition added by the officiating vice chancellor on the promotions of the university faculty, under career advancement scheme (CAS).
Avneet Pal added that we had given the assurance to MP Patiala Preneet Kaur, about the smooth functioning of the university.
In response to their demands, Preneet Kaur said, she also wants to break the ice between the university vice chancellor, faculty and non-teaching staff. Preneet Kaur added that she will look into their demands and wants the university to flourish in every sphere-be its academics, sports, research, promotion of Punjabi language etc.
PUTA officials further informed that, with the efforts of Preneet Kaur, a meeting between the vice chancellor, PUTA, Class A,B,C association has been fixed, for tomorrow, to discuss the demands of the teaching and non-teaching staff.

Even yesterday, PUTA had forwarded a letter to VP Singh Badnore, Punjab Governor and Chancellor of the university, requesting his immediate intervention to restore the dignity of Punjabi University teaching fraternity and requesting him to declare the new appointment as null and void and revoked with immediate effect.
