Quality of Makrfed products better than international brands-Manuke

Punjab Vidhan Sabha committee on co-operation and its allied activities held a special meeting under the chairperson ship Sarabjit Kaur Mannke. While reviewing the work being carried out by Markfed, Manuke said that the quality of the products manufactured by Markfed is better than the brands at the international level.
She said that all the food products manufactured by Markfed are manufactured according to the prescribed standards and the demand for which is large in other countries and India. She directed the officials of Markfed and said that they should prepare the guidelines for the promotion and sale of these high quality goods and take them to every corner of the state.
On this occasion, she instructed to upgrade the outlet of Markfed and said that the goods kept for sale here should be displayed in a good manner and the supply of goods should be ensured.

She said that after inspecting the lab and machinery being run by Markfed, it has been discussed how this machinery needs to be further upgraded for the interest of the state and the interest of the farmers, for which funds can be provided.
MD of Markfed Navita Bagla informed the committee that in this modern lab of Markfed, samples from Odisha and Maharashtra states also come for testing and with the upgradation the use of this lab can be increased which will also increase the income of the department. She said that in this lab every food item like biscuits, flour, jam, wheat etc. is tested for nutritional level, gluten protein, and moisture etc.
Members in this committee including MLAs Dinesh Kumar Chadha, Amarpal Singh, Jagtar Singh, Naresh Puri, Sandeep Jakhar, Devinderjit Singh, Special Secretary Co-operation Keshav Hingonia, Joint Registrar Planning Co-operation Gurpreet Singh, Chief Manager Foodgrain Sanjeev Mankatla, GM. Ramandeep Singh, SDM Rupnagar Jasvir Singh and other officials were also present on the occasion.
