In order to make the students aware about First Aid , Fire & Road safety and also to create Health awareness, a quiz was organized at Police DAV Public School , Patiala .
It was organised by the Traffic Police Department in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross society in the school campus .The quiz masters were Kaka Ram , a First Aid instructor and has a vast experience and ASI Gurjab Singh of Traffic Police, Patiala.
Both Kaka Ram and Gurjab Singh put forth questions related to human body, blood, railways and traffic signs. There were eight teams comprising two students in each team from classes VIII & IX. The quiz wizards answered to the questions put to them with a lot of zeal. The quiz master also shared their immense experience and enhanced the knowledge of the students on prevailing increasing rate of road accidents and their preventive measures.
The quiz was conducted under the supervision of Hardeep Singh Ji, Inspector Traffic Police , Patiala. He was full of praise at the spontaneity of the students in delivering answers. On the occasion , he urged the children to share the knowledge with friends and family members to follow traffic rules for a safe future.
Later, medals & certificates were awarded to the winning teams wherein Team E ( Tanu & Nischay of class IX) of Police DAV Public School stood first. Speakers from the audience who gave correct answers were also rewarded by the eminent personalities present on the occasion.
Police DAV Public school Principal, Meena Thapar welcomed and thanked the Traffic Police Department along with Indian Red Cross society for their great contribution to the welfare of the society in spreading the message of safe driving. She motivated the students to take part in such competitions as they help to increase knowledge and also to develop a good outlook towards life.
