Reforms in Education to Benefit Every Section of Society – Bains

The Punjab government has allocated a budget of Rs. 18,000 crore for the education sector, reflecting its strong commitment to prioritizing education. Under this initiative, the appearance and facilities of 212 government schools in the Sri Anandpur Sahib constituency are being transformed through development works worth nearly Rs. 100 crore. Our government schools are now becoming capable of competing with model and convent schools.

The development works being carried out under the “Punjab Education Revolution” will not only provide a better educational environment for students but also assist teachers in fulfilling their responsibilities more effectively. Educational reforms will benefit all sections of society and contribute to the overall development of the state.

Harjot Singh Bains, Education Minister Punjab, remarks  during the inauguration of various completed development projects in different schools of the constituency.

He inaugurated projects, Renovation worth Rs. 10.57 lakh at Government Schools, Jhinjri, Repairs worth Rs. 4.55 lakh at Government School, Baddal Lower, Classroom construction and repairs worth Rs. 12.62 lakh at Government School Nikkuwal, Boundary wall construction worth Rs. 1.75 lakh at Government Middle School, Nikkuwal, Repairs and boundary wall work worth Rs. 31.06 lakh at Government School, Burj, Holistic development and repairs worth Rs. 26.58 lakh at Government School Lodhipur, Boundary wall construction worth Rs. 7 lakh at Government School, Lodhipur, New classroom construction and repairs worth Rs. 12.28 lakh at Government School, Matour, He also interacted with students, parents, and teachers on the occasion. Praising the cultural performances held in government schools, the Education Minister said that our students are excelling in every field, including achieving notable accomplishments in sports.

In his address, the Education Minister said that under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister  Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government has taken historic steps to transform government schools. The goal of the government is to provide quality education to every child so they can fulfill their dreams. He emphasized that the government is committed to reforming the education sector and is making every possible effort in this direction.

He added that due to the negligence of previous governments towards strengthening the education system, many private schools opened in the state, making education expensive and inaccessible to common people’s children. However, in the past three years, due to the unprecedented changes brought by this government, the basic infrastructure in schools has been significantly strengthened.

On this occasion, the parents of students appreciated the efforts made by the state government to transform government schools and said that the ultra-modern infrastructure and suitable learning environment in government schools will prove to be extremely beneficial for students.
