Amid rising inflation and disruptions in global oil supply chains, the Central Government’s decision to significantly reduce excise duty on petrol and diesel is being seen as a major relief for the public. The government has reduced the special additional excise duty on petrol to Rs 3 per litre, while completely removing it on diesel.

In response to this decision, BJP National Parliamentary Board member Iqbal Singh Lalpura expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, describing the move as a far sighted step taken in public interest. He stated that at a time when the entire world is facing an oil supply crisis due to tensions in the Middle East, this decision by the Government of India to provide relief to citizens is highly commendable.

Lalpura further said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the Central Government consistently places the interests of common citizens at the forefront. He noted that the reduction in petrol and diesel prices will not only ease the burden on the public but also help control inflation by lowering transportation costs.

He added that this decision comes at a time when global supply chains are being affected due to Iran tightening its control over the Strait of Hormuz. Despite these challenges, India has prioritized the welfare of its citizens. Lalpura emphasized that such decisions by the BJP government reflect its commitment to stand with the people and support them during challenging times.
