Renovation and beautification work of pathway from Langar Sri Guru Ramdas Ji to Baba Atal Rai Sahib begins

The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) today formally commenced the renovation and beautification work of the pathway leading from Langar Sri Guru Ramdas Ji at Sri Darbar Sahib to Gurdwara Baba Atal Rai Sahib. The sewa (voluntary service) was inaugurated after an Ardas by SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami and Baba Kashmir Singh Bhuriwale in the presence of several prominent personalities. The SGPC has entrusted the service project to Baba Kashmir Singh Kar Sewa Bhuriwale.
Speaking on the occasion, SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that Sachkhand Sri Harmandar Sahib is the spiritual centre of faith for the entire humanity and every Sikh aspires to pay obeisance at this sacred shrine. He said the SGPC is continuously making efforts to facilitate the devotees visiting Sri Darbar Sahib.
Keeping in view the convenience of the Sangat, the SGPC Executive Committee had approved the renovation and beautification of this pathway, the formal work of which has now begun, he added. Advocate Dhami informed that a master plan has been prepared to develop the route in an aesthetically pleasing manner. Along with creating a dedicated pedestrian pathway, trees will also be planted to maintain a natural environment.
Considering the large influx of devotees, he appealed to Baba Kashmir Singh Bhuriwale to complete the project at the earliest. The SGPC President also urged the Sangat to extend maximum cooperation in the ongoing service works.
Meanwhile, Baba Kashmir Singh Bhuriwale said that in accordance with the decision taken by the SGPC management, the pathway would be completed soon for the convenience of the devotees. He also thanked SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami and the SGPC management for entrusting him with the seva of the project.
On the occasion, Advocate Dhami also honoured Baba Kashmir Singh Bhuriwale and other prominent personalities.
