RGNUL organized eleven day online Capacity Building, Faculty Development Programme on Law and Social Sciences

Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, (RGNUL) Punjab, Patiala in collaboration with the Law Teachers India organized an Eleven Day Online Capacity Building Programme (CBP)/ Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Law and Social Sciences (19-30 may, 2025).
The CBP/ FDP started on 19th May, 2025 with the Inaugural Session graced by four prominent personalities as Guests of Honor; (i) Professor (Dr.) Jai Shankar Singh, the Vice Chancellor, RGNUL, Punjab; (ii) Dr. K. P. Singh, Former DGP, Haryana; (iii) Professor (Dr.) Kamaljit Kaur, Dean (Research), RGNUL, Punjab; and (iv) Dr. Ivneet Kaur Walia, Officiating Registrar, RGNUL, Punjab.A remarkable number of participants, more than thirteen hundred (1300+) from India and abroad attended the CBP/ FDP.
The participants included advocates of various courts of different states of India and also Supreme Court; professors and faculty with different academic backgrounds (subjects); researchers; and other professionals. This CBP/ FDP features representation from all the States of India, which in itself an evidence of the stellar success of the course.
For the first ever time perhaps, any National Law University in India planned discourses which connected and established mutuality between Law as s subject with other Social Sciences like Sociology; History; Criminology; Political Science; Anthropology; Linguistics and Communication; Psychology; Economics; Public Administration; Geography; and Social Work. The Resource persons have been selected on the basis of their internationally known expertise in the related fields.
The list of Resource Persons included Dr. Jasleen Kewlani, RGNUL, Punjab, who has also been the Convener and Organizing Secretary of the CBP/ FDP , along with Advocate Dr. Kalpesh Gupta, Founder, Law Teachers India; Dr. Ravi Saxena, Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (Deemed to be University), Mumbai; Dr. Ivneet Kaur Walia, RGNUL, Punjab; Dr. Richa Sharma, Deputy Director, ICSSR, New Delhi; Dr. Gautam Sood, Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology, Punjabi University, Patiala, Punjab; Dr. Deepak Mashru, SLFJPS, NFSU, Gandhinagar; Dr. Naina, Department of Psychology CDOE, Punjabi University, Patiala, Punjab; Dr. Shweta Mohan, NUSRL, Ranchi; Dr. Mohit Verma, Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Chandigarh; Dr. Gaurav Kalotra, Panjab University, Chandigarh; and finally Dr. A. N. Rao, GNLU, Gandhinagar.
RGNUL organized eleven day online Capacity Building, Faculty Development Programme on Law and Social Sciences. The event concluded on 30th May, 2025 with an open house for all the participants and for ‘Feed Back’ especially. The participants have given a loud and prominent applaud to the event for the intellectual impact it has had on their learning skills and potential. The CBP/ FDP has also opened up many avenues of collaborations between uncountable academic institutions teaching different subjects and many governmental as well as non-governmental organizations also, which India shall witness in the near future. RGNUL, Punjab and Law Teachers India have already received many offers for collaborations for Online Digital Learning (ODL) Courses and events to be organized on different themes, relevant to Social Human Development in India through academic intervention and role play. On the whole, this has been one of the biggest and mega virtual events in the history of academic institutions of India, which did not only leave a remarkable impact on learning and teaching skills of teachers from Higher Education System of India, but also led to professional and developmental impact across various occupational stratas. It can be said that this Eleven Day Online Capacity Building Programme (CBP)/ Faculty Development Programme (FDP) has set a benchmark for all the times to come in the realm of ‘Digitalization of Education and Learning’.
