RGNUL organizes National Cultural Festival RITVAAN’18
Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab in collaboration with North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala (Ministry of Culture, Government of India) organized a three-day (23rd – 25th February, 2018) National Cultural Festival, RITVAAN’18, at its campus.
The festival commenced with the inaugural programme on 23rdFebruary, 2018. Air Marshal K.S. Gill was the Chief Guest for the occasion. Ravinder Sharma, Programme Officer, North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC), Patiala; Bhupindra Singh, OSD, NZCC, Patiala; Prof. Paul A. Baressi, Professor of Political Science, South New Hampshire University, USA; Prof. (Dr.) Paramjit S. Jaswal, Vice-Chancellor RGNUL and Prof. (Dr.) GISSandhu, Registrar RGNUL also graced the occasion.
The festival was inaugurated by lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries present on the occasion alongwith Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma, Coordinator RITVAAN’18. Prof. (Dr.) Paramjit S. Jaswal, in his welcome address, expressed gratitude to NZCC Patiala for their cooperation and collaboration for organizing RITVAAN’18 at RGNUL. He lauded the initiative of RGNUL Cultural Committee, faculty, students and staff for holding the event. Dr. Jaswal also eulogized the contribution of Air Marshal K.S. Gill in serving the nation for over three and a half decades.
Air Marshal K.S. Gill appreciated the efforts of the University in engaging the young minds in cultural activities. He observed, “RGNUL students would be a part of three pillars of democratic India.”
Folk artists from six states – Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana andOdishaenthralled the audience with their performance. The Programme was anchored by Sanjiv Shaad. Students from different Indian institutions participated in various events like Extempore Moot, Lip-Sync Battle, Plane Crash, Stage Play, Dance, Law Quiz, Singing and Fashion Show.
Prof. (Dr.) G.I.S. Sandhu, Registrar RGNUL, proposed a vote of thanks.He acknowledged and appreciated all the sponsors and collaborators for contributing towards the success of the event. The ceremony concluded with a felicitation of RavinderShama and Sanjeev to express gratitude towards NZCC.
