Rich Tributes Paid to Sardarni Harpal Kaur Brar: Family Launches Scholarship for Students and NGO for Elderly Care

Rich tributes were paid to Sardarni Harpal Kaur Brar, mother of Dr. Gurinder Pal Singh Brar, Registrar of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda, at her village Bhitiwala today.

The Bhog of Sri Sehaj Path was performed at the family residence, followed by Kirtan and Antim Ardas at the main Gurdwara Sahib in Bhitiwala village.

The Leaders, academics, and community members in thousands gathered to honor her memory, reflecting the profound impact of her life.

Punjab Agriculture Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian described her as a noble soul devoted to community service, emphasizing that the loss of a mother is irreplaceable.

Veteran CPI leader and former MLA Hardev Arshi praised her as an exemplary mother and a symbol of hard work and dedication to societal welfare.

A large number of dignitaries, including family members of MLAs Gurjant Singh and Gurbir Singh from Rajasthan, former MLA Nathu Ram, and representatives from Punjabi University, Patiala, Central University of Punjab, MRSPTU, IKGPTU, SBS State Technical University, and other institutions, attended to pay their respects.

Messages of condolence were also shared by the Shiromani Akali Dal, president  Sukhbir Singh Badal, Member Parliament Harsimrat Kaur Badal and other political parties, besides organizations such as the International Gatka Federation and the Taekwondo Association.

In a fitting tribute to her legacy, Dr. Gurinder Pal Singh Brar announced the establishment of a scholarship for needy and meritorious students and the formation of an NGO to support elderly care. The family also pledged financial assistance to the village Gurdwara Committee, continuing her legacy of selfless service.

Rich Tributes Paid to Sardarni Harpal Kaur Brar: Family Launches Scholarship for Students and NGO for Elderly Care. Born in 1932 in Shergarh Gain Singh, Muktsar, Sardarni Harpal Kaur Brar was the daughter of Sardar Hari Singh and Sardarni Sant Kaur. In 1952, she married Sardar Baltej Singh Brar of Bhitiwala village. After her husband’s untimely demise, she exhibited extraordinary resilience, managing the family’s agricultural enterprises and transforming them into flourishing ventures.

Her commitment to education and moral values profoundly influenced her children, including Dr. Gurinder Pal Singh Brar, a prominent figure in technical education, and her grandson, Dr. Gunteshwar Singh, an accomplished medical professional.

At the age of 92, Sardarni Harpal Kaur Brar remained a beacon of simplicity, discipline, and courage, inspiring her family and community alike. Her legacy of humility and service will continue to guide those who knew her.
